Well, back in
2013 we (Jane and Paul) had the good fortune to enjoy a trip of a
lifetime with our two children and their spouses to travel to Spain for a
quick
but very enjoyable 10-day quick tour from Madrid and up to the Basque
region
and back again to Madrid. As Ian and Alison were both born there it
seemed appropriate! The six of us had a blast and really ate and drank
our way around Spain. At one point, Ian and his wife Cathie said, "we are
staying here you can FEDEX the kids over when you get back!!!!"Well that did not happen and our annual trips back to España continued alone until in November 2018, Paul declared that he wanted to enjoy the south of Spain with Ian, Cathie, and granddaughter Zoey who is now old enough to enjoy a change in cultures. And so the planning began in earnest trying to figure the best dates of travel,which all went out the window when Cathie’s brother Dan moved his fall wedding into the summer months. Eventually dates fell into place for a mid-summer trip that satisfied everyone. Then what could be seen and how best to travel from Madrid to the Mediterranean and back. Our agenda was finally set and pre-packing and coordination of activities began in earnest.
