DAY 7 , Cordoba to Granada, 198 July 2019 FRIDAY End of Week 1 in Spain!

DAY 7 , Cordoba to Granada, 198 July 2019 FRIDAY End of Week 1 in Spain!

We are so behind on these blogs! We have been so busy and having so much fun that it is hard to find time to just sit and reflect on what we have been doing. Here we go, day 7! After breakfast we loaded up the car and set out up for a short drive of 145Kms.The only stops along the way were for refreshment and potty stops! We arrived in Granada at 4:30 PM and found the Hotel Abadia and its garage around the block! We stayed here before and the hotel is very central but kind of basic. Comfortable enough but with no breakfast, bar or restaurant. An evening walkabout in the area and our meal was in the corner bar where we will probably have breakfast and perhaps dinner again! The receptionist was sweet girl with very good English and she trooped downstairs for a bottle of wine and some beers for us! Most of the office staff are students with multiple languages who are doing some sort exchange thing.  Although Jane & Paul’s room has a rain shower head with a proper shower curtain, Ian’s room has a normal shower but then again, their entire room looks like a Chinese Laundry, their first washing of laundry day on this trip!! Don’t get me started on the range of showers in Spanish hotels!

The hotel is a traditional building for this area, built around a lovely patio with the rooms bordering it. We sat at a table and talked and drank some wine. It was an early night tonight at 1030 and a quiet night for a change.

We have tickets for the Alhambra from 60 days ago ON LINE purchase and we booked a flamenco show from the hotel for Saturday evening. Paul is going to sit this one out because of the amount of walking involved at the Alhambra.

Hasta manana!
